Our Methodology

How we approach each engagement

Every engagement begins with listening. Before recommending any course of action, we spend time understanding the specific circumstances — the people involved, the nature of the dispute or question, and what a good outcome would genuinely look like for the client. Family matters vary considerably, and a standard response rarely serves the situation well.

Our approach places the client's pace and readiness at the centre of the process. We do not create artificial timelines or recommend action before a client has had adequate time to reflect. This is particularly important in situations involving children, where decisions made under pressure can cause lasting difficulty.

We also hold a realistic view of what law can and cannot deliver. We are honest when a negotiated outcome is preferable to a litigated one, and when a client's interests are best served by settlement rather than pursuit of a technical legal position. This honest assessment is part of every engagement, from the first conversation onward.

Pace set by you

Decisions are made when the client is ready — not on our schedule.

Service Two

Family Settlement and Mediation Counsel

RM 715

Considered legal support for clients who wish to address family matters through negotiated settlement or mediated discussion where this is suitable. The engagement includes preparation for mediation, drafting of proposed terms, support and representation through mediated sessions, and the formalisation of any agreement reached. Where mediation proves unworkable, the team transitions thoughtfully to formal proceedings while keeping the client's interests carefully held. Throughout, the pace remains measured.

Drafting and formalisation of agreed terms
Option to proceed to formal proceedings if mediation is unsuitable
Measured pace throughout — no artificial urgency

Process
